Who is responsible for your data

This site is run by Shahrukh Athar, who is responsible for any personal data you share through it. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

What is collected

Only what you choose to send. The contact form collects your name, email address, the pathway you select and your message. The Pattern Journal sign-up collects your email address. If you buy a tool, the order is handled by email, so the details you include in that email are kept with the order.

No account is needed to use this site. While you read it, Google Analytics records anonymous usage (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and which links and forms are used) so the site can be improved — only if you allow it where consent is required. See Cookies below.

Elicitation, assessment and exercise answers

Answers to the elicitation, the free assessments, quizzes, guided exercises and the coaching checklist are processed entirely in your browser to produce your result. They are not sent, stored or seen by anyone, and they disappear when you close or reload the page. Anything you type into an exercise — reflections, labels, session notes — never leaves the page.

If you choose to ask for a follow-up by email, your email address, optional first name and your result summary and scores (not your individual answers or anything you typed) are sent so the follow-up can be written and emailed to you. They are used only for that.

How it is used

Contact messages are used to reply to you. Journal sign-ups are used only to send the journal. Order emails are used to deliver what you bought. Your details are never sold, rented or used for advertising.

Processors

The site is hosted on a private server behind Cloudflare, which handles network traffic and security and may briefly process your IP address. Form submissions are delivered through a self-hosted automation service and Slack, and email is handled by StackMail. Fonts are served from this site itself, so no third-party font service sees your visit. Usage statistics are collected by Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager (Google LLC), which processes your IP address to estimate location and does not receive your form contents.

Retention

Contact messages and order emails are kept for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the work. Journal sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask for your data to be deleted sooner at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data held about you, or object to its use. Email [email protected] and you will receive a reply within 30 days.

Cookies

Analytics cookies are set only with your permission where the law requires it. Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) count visits and show which pages are useful. They do not identify you by name, are not used for advertising, and expire after at most two years. No advertising or social media trackers are used.

When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject analytics. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland have analytics switched off until they accept. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can switch it off with Reject. Advertising storage is always off. This uses Google Consent Mode: while analytics is off, Google may still receive cookieless signals (such as that a page was viewed) but no analytics cookies are stored on your device.

Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) for 12 months. Rejecting also deletes any Google Analytics cookies already set. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings below or in the footer, block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, without affecting how the site works.
